Ohio’s growing EV and manufacturing industries demand a workforce equipped with expertise in high-voltage safety, battery handling, and electric motor assembly. By building foundational EV knowledge in class, your EV Training Lab will give students a head start toward in-demand careers in this fast-growing field.
Many skills are needed to be successful in the EV, EVSE, and Battery industry, but high voltage safety and battery handling techniques are among the most critical for success in the EV job market.
Many skills are expected to be taught through both curricula and on-the-job training (OJT). Foundational knowledge is covered via curricula while company-specific tools and technologies are typically taught through OJT.
While most cell manufacturing currently occurs outside of the US, as OEMs become vertically integrated, the workforce will rely on manufacturing skills in this area. Electric Motor Assembly and Disassembly is another emerging field for many employers throughout Ohio.
